Army personnel among 4 held for running fake recruitment drive
UP Special Task Force (STF) in a joint operation with the military intelligence on Sunday arrested four people, including a serving army personnel and a retired army personnel, in Lucknow’s PGI police station limits for allegedly duping gullible youths on the pretext of providing them jobs in the army.

Those arrested were identified as serving army personnel Ram Baran Singh who is posted in Nagaland, retired army personnel Amit Kumar Singh of Ghazipur district, imposter army commando Subham Singh alias Karan Patel and Etawah resident Dinesh Kumar Yadav. The STF recovered one army uniform of Lieutenant Colonel rank officer from the accused.
A STF official informed that Ram Baran Singh, who is a serving army personnel, had come on leave here for 45 days and assisted the three others accused by posing as lieutenant colonel rank officer. He said the second accused Amit Kumar Singh has retired from the army in 2021 and got involved with the fraudsters to earn some fast money. The third and the fourth accused too posed as army personnel and used to mint around ?7-8 lakh per candidate from job aspirants.
